RightClick version 7.00 New Feature Highlights |
|
RightClick 7.00 includes many new and
innovative features. Slated for release in January 2005, these
improvements enhance both RightClick Atlas and RightClick
Velocity. The document is divided into two sections, the first
being new feature highlights and a more detailed list of new
improvements further below,
click here to start with the detailed list.
A great deal of effort was focused on
user interface improvements. The goal was to make RightClick
easier for all users, data entry employees, managers and
executives. Rapid access to information was at the heart of the
changes. These include alterations to all of the inventory scan
windows, inventory status windows, and Customer/Vendor Scan
windows. These status and scan windows can now be maximized on
the Desktop, they include more information in grids and have
been enhanced based on user suggestions. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
Users can now modify the appearance of
nearly all grids—and RightClick remembers the settings per user.
As in the example provided, notice not only that the text size
has been altered, but the column headers have been changed, the
Sell $ column is bold and there is a photo of the jewelry item
in the grid! Of course you can still see the jewelry photo as a
separate window. In addition, customer and item notes can be
displayed as a column in a grid. |
|
|
|
 |
Grid columns and rows are now
controlled with a grid Properties window. You’ll notice that the
window includes all of the columns and allows users to change
the column title, attributes (such as bold, italics and font
size), column alignment and column width. Now your employees can
customize RightClick windows so that they work best for them.
It is now also easy control a user’s
window settings. Through Security Information window, managers
can “clone” one user’s settings (such as window settings, grid
customizations and more) to other users. Therefore, if you have
customized grids and windows, you can distribute them to other
users easily.
|
|
Analysis Graphing
Both RightClick Atlas and RightClick Velocity now have graphs.
The Analysis Graphing module includes over 150 graphs in Atlas
and over 100 in Velocity. These powerful analytical tools allow
managers and executives to spot trends, look for trouble areas
and top performers (by customer, item or category) and more.
Nearly all graphs analyze data across multi-year (whether you
have closed out your data or not), chart growth and perform
dozens of calculations on sales metrics. Graphs can be seen on
screen or printed in full color.

Find Information Faster
Need to find customers, vendors or
items within one or two seconds? Now RightClick’s Quick Find
window includes a Find Any… field. With Find Any… users simply
type a few letters of a customer’s name, vendor’s name, phone
number, or item number and RightClick uses a highly optimized
search to rapidly locate matching data. The results are
displayed in a combobox, and selecting any item, customer or
vendor allows the user to perform an action (such as memo, sell,
look up and so on).

Job Control Forecasting
For RightClick Atlas customers, there
is a new Job Forecasting module. This new module allows
companies to forecast their production departments by job
location, contractor or vendor, determine on time performance
and more. Additionally, production department managers can track
job location and vendor Passed and Failed rates. Twelve (12) new
production forecasting reports have been built specifically for
management use. They include order forecasting, component
requirement forecasting, job cost forecasting, on time record
tracking, and more. |

RightClick Reports
RightClick Reports has been greatly
enhanced! In fact, it was brought back to the design stage and
much of its new functionality was programmed from scratch. When
the windows version of RightClick was first released, in 1998,
the number of reports barely reached 150. Now, with over 225
reports in Atlas and over 125 reports in Velocity, and with the
new graphs, a new way of managing reports and graphs was needed.
RightClick now puts the power of report management in the hands
of the users. Through the Manage pagetab, users can create their
own pagetabs for reports and graphs. For instance, if the
accounting department runs 25 reports every month then setup a
pagetab called “Accounting Department” with those reports. If
executives need specific graphs to chart corporate growth or
find fastest selling merchandise, create pagetabs specifically
for them (i.e. “John’s Reports”). In the example provided, we
created a pagetab for Atlas’s new Job Forecasting module reports
and graphs!

Date criteria fields on reports can
scans now accept English words such as “This Year” (don’t
include the quotes) or “Last Year” or “Today” You can enter
month names such as “January” or “March” which RightClick would
view as “01/01 to 01/31” of the current year, or “03/01 to
03/31” respectively. You can even mix numbers and workds, such
as “1/15 to Tomorrow”
The Transactional Tracking window has
been enhanced
Quick Find has been improved and now
includes Find Any… Use this field to rapidly locate items,

at all times. It has been specifically designed to rapidly
locate information--try it, you'll love it!
RightClick Reports has been enhanced to
allow users to create and manage their own custom groups of
reports. These custom groups can be anything, for instance:
Accounting, Management, Inventory, Fred’s Reports, and so on. To
create a group, use the Manage pagetab in the RightClick
Reports. This is very intuitive and easy to use. Please note
that the custom pagetabs are not user specific; when you set up
pagetabs every user will get the pagetabs. In Security
Information there will be a Manage RightClick Reports option to
control which user can manipulate report groups.
Now users can log directly into
RightClick Reports without having to input a user name and
password. (This only works from the reports icon in the
RightClick window.)

Both Detail Vendor and Customer Ledger

A new module is now available called
Job Forecasting. Users can pre-define the job bag locations a
style or item will travel to when being manufactured. To input
these locations, on the Components window, click the Locations
button in the upper portion of the window. Here, users will
input the locations and their order (i.e. Caster first, Diamond
Picker second, Setter next, etc…) and the time it takes to
complete the step (in minutes, hours and days—all
accumulative—so if setting takes a day and a half, input 1 day +
12 hours). These pre-defined locations are also printed on the
6x9 Job Bag. The following reports are included in the Job
Forecasting module:
-
Detail Order Forecasting Report
-
Summary Job Location Forecast By

Passed. The location that gets closed out is assigned these
checkbox values. Use this to manage failure rate. Several
reports have been altered to include the failure status. Lastly.
a department field has been added to the Job Location
Information window
Prospect Management has been
extraordinarily enhanced and you can read more about it’s
extensive features by clicking
here. Also included are these prospect reports:

JBT. Prospects have been integrated into RightClick Atlas and
the following windows have been altered: Quick Find, Address
Label printing, RightClick Fax and the Call Center. Users can
also right click on prospect comboboxes to select actions for
prospects.
Both the Customer Scan and Vendor Scan
have a new pagetab called Snap Shot. This pagetab displays
important financial information about the customer or vendor
selected, including sales month to date for the current year and
last year, same for year to date, last sale, purchase, memo,
order, total exposure and more.
EDI 850 Orders can now be processed
using a UPC # from the customer.
A new report called Inventory Purchase
Status Report has been added. This report prints all inventory
transactions after each purchase. Companies can use this report
to link purchase to sale. Works best for one of a kind inventory
items.
Interested in how a RightClick module
works but don't want to pay for it without being sure? Ask
for a Module Trial! Thinking about Photo Imaging or Analysis
Graphing—the Module Trial allows companies to test drive modules
for one (1) week without cost. You’ll need a modem, DSL or T1 to
download the access codes for the Module Trial—but that’s it.
After the trial period is over the module shuts off and you can
then purchase it.
The Customer Payments By Salesperson
Report has been modified to split commission into Commission #1
and Commission #2—which corresponds to the two commissions on an
invoice or credit.
The Style and Jewelry Components window
has been altered and now includes a combobox for M.M. Size in
both the diamonds and colored stone grids. |
